20w5d

ohhh, we're half way there, oh-oh, livin' on a prayer!!
YAY! just over 20 weeks, now that I'm half way done, I'm just hoping that baby girl is on time or better yet, 10 days early like her big sister <3

Last Wednesday I took a trip into the Birthing Center of the hospital that I'm planning on having the baby at... she's been super active since about 18.5w so when she slowed down, and I barely felt her move for about 4 days, I felt a little worried... they couldn't do much, just hooked me up to the contraction machine, and listened to her heartbeat with the doppler, but it was nice to have the peace of mind :) And, after we (My Mom, sister and I) left the hospital, baby started being crazy again, Murphy's law I guess ;)

I've been having some numbness in my limbs (hands, arms, legs) and called the nurse to see if that was something normal, she said it wasn't so I'm going for an evaluation tomorrow... Hopefully they can figure it out without too much trouble.

I also had Elliot pull out my baby name books so I can start reading through them... I usually like looking at names, but now that I have to find one that we both love, it's not such a fun job :p
Oh how I wish I could have one of these at home! I'd be doing daily ultrasounds to see the baby! :D

19w4d

Here I sit... 12:23am... I should be sleeping, but instead I'm FB stalking, and looking at Christmas gift ideas for our daughter...

I saw a glow worm for sale on a site, and remembered that I had one when I was little... I totally want to get these for our girls :) I know Evelyn would LOVE it :D

Meanwhile, I am feeling the little kicks here are there from Baby Hassan <3 I'm a bit of a worriers... and I don't remember at what week you start counting kicks? (I'm assuming it's when they're bigger than a banana lol) But still, I like to try and feel her kick, to be sure she's ok :) She must be starting a sleeping cycle, because this little one will be kicking up a storm then nothing for quite some time... She is strong too, so sometimes her little kicks, although they assure me, are surprising because of the strength lol :)

My next check up is on Nov.22nd, and I will actually be seeing my Dr. this time, not a PA (just due to scheduling, no real reason), then I will be setting up my Rhogam shot, blood work, maybe even my 30ish week ultrasound? not looking forward to my glucose test... trust me, I like sugar, but drinking sugar water, on a time limit, bluh. I'll pass ;)

On Oct. 9th, we found out that Baby Hassan #2 is a girl!

I will be 19 weeks tomorrow, and looking forward to being on the down hill stretch of my 40 weeks, next week. It doesn't feel like it at the time, but the past 13 weeks of knowing that we are expecting now seem to have flew right past us!

I'm thankful that we have things like family visits (yay for paid work trips that Elliot can take us with him on!), Thanksgiving, Christmas, then our (bigger) little one will be turning 3! Hopefully all of these things will keep my mind occupied and I won't got crazy waiting for Little Miss to arrive :)

your baby's the size of a mango!
At about 6.0 inches long and weighing in at about 8.5 ounces, she's getting there!

your baby at 19 weeks
  • Developing a protective coating over her skin, called vernix caseosa. It's greasy and white and you may see some of it at her birth.
  • Working on her five senses. Nerve cells for her sense of taste, hearing, sight and smell are developing in her brain.
Now onto things like: picking a name... Elliot doesn't like to look for names together, but he doesn't mind me running names by him... *sigh* So that leaves me to sift through all the forms, baby name sites and wherever else I stumble upon. But somehow I always end up reading other peoples posts like "Weirdest names you've head?" (Nevaeh, Soyyer?), but, we have 21 weeks to decide so I'll so some more searching around until we find just the right name :)

Pregnancy Announcement!

Baby Hassan #2, Due March 12th, 2014!
Far Left: Evelyn holding my 6 week ultrasound, Top Right: 9 week ultrasound

baby's the size of a plum!
The average fetus at 12 weeks is about 2.1 inches long and .49 ounces. Now that she's got pretty much all her parts, her main job is to keep on growing.
  • Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
  • She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
  • She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.
  • She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
  • Her brain is developing fast!

I was 12 weeks on the 27th, we had waited until then to publicly announce that we are expecting baby #2!
Evelyn will be 3 on February 28th, and I am so glad that they will be that far apart... I remember thinking when Evelyn was about 10 mo. old that I could handle another baby, then she hit a more needy stage, and I was so glad that I could focus all my time on her <3 Now that she is bigger, and a little more self sufficient, she will be such a good helper!

My next OB appointment is September 17th, and then I will schedule my gender ultrasound for sometime in October! So excited to find out the gender of our littler little one!
